A woman has been arrested on suspicion of killing a five-month-old baby who suffered from starvation and broken bones nearly a quarter of a century ago, it emerged today.
Forty-nine-year-old Chris Tilghman of Riverside, Southern California, was arrested last week and charged with murder.
Tilghman is suspected of killing Cole Terpack, who died at a hospital in August of 1990.
Scene: Cole Terpack was found by paramedics on August 3, 1990, in this San Bernardino home 'starved, unconscious and not breathing'
Paramedics called to a San Bernardino home found the child unconscious and not breathing.
Authorities say the infant was starved and had numerous broken bones.
The baby's death was being investigated as a homicide in 1990 but the case went cold .
It was revisited this year by investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The Cold Case Team is funded in part through a $500,000 'Solving Cold Cases with DNA' grant from the US Department of Justice.
Authorities won't say what led them to Tilghman but they say she wasn't related to the baby.
